A Weekend in DTX…

Whether you're shopping in Highland Park Village, hitting The Boulevard on game days, walking the Katy Trail, or catching a Cowboys game, a weekend in Dallas, Texas could never be boring. We've compiled a list of all of our favorite spots to ensure you have the best time in the place CITY Boots was born!

BUT FIRST, COFFEE.

You're gearing up for a big weekend and need some fuel. Our favorite spots for a quick cup are La La Land Kind Cafe, which boasts the happiest interiors, Foxtrot, which doubles as a mini market, or Ascension Coffee, Lizzy's personal favorite.

BRUNCHIN' IN BOOTS

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but what if we added mimosas, slept in a little and all just agreed brunch is equally, if not more, important. Stop by Sixty Vines for over 50 wines on tap, paired with inventive pizzas. Stop by Toulouse for the very best brunch with a French flair. Finally, Beverly's is an honorable mention for us. Try the Challah French Toast!

SHOP 'TIL YOU DROP

If shopping is a sport, Dallas is the stadium. At Northpark Center, one of the largest malls in Texas, you'll find most major stores and an organized Zara (these are RARE, haha!). Highland Park Village is the ultimate destination for luxury shopping, and in Deep Ellum, you'll find CITY Boots Dallas! The Neiman Marcus flagship in Downtown Dallas is another must-see!

DAY DRINKING

When Texas isn't unbearably hot, grabbing a drink outside and people-watching is a perfect pastime. The most popular spot for an afternoon drink is Katy Trail Ice House, located along the Katy Trail (which gave the Katy boot its name!). Some other honorable mentions you're sure to have a great time at are HG Supply's rooftop and The Rustic, where you can often catch live music.

LETS LUNCH!

Long lunches are a love language. What's better than a midday break to catch up over cocktails? We've compiled some Dallas classics for this portion of our guide. Hudson House is the perfect spot for a little bit of everything, including an amazing raw bar. Honor Bar, located in Highland Park Village, is the perfect place to pop in after some shopping. Lastly, Mi Cocina, with multiple locations across the city is the best fast-casual Mexican food you'll find! Make sure to order a Mambo Taxi, thank us later.

SATURDAYS ARE FOR THE BOULEVARD

As a proud SMU alumni, you can find Lizzy on The Boulevard most Saturdays in the Fall. SMU's boujee tailgating scene is filled with red, white, and blue and only the best looks! This game day celebration is something you don't want to miss, make sure you've got your best game day look ready to go!

FANCY & FUN DINNERS

We've broken this section up into two parts: fun dinners and fancy dinners. While you can have fun almost anywhere in Dallas, some places might just cost you a bit more.

FUN:

We're starting with a Dallas staple, Javier's. Grab a famous margarita and lean into the Tex-Mex craze, we promise it's worth the hype. On this same note, Las Palmas is another must-see. Do you sense a theme? Margaritas are always more fun.

FANCIER:

For us, Fachini is Carbone's cooler cousin. Order the Rigatoni alla Vodka and eat overlooking Highland Park Village. For a swanky meal with an old Hollywood feel, hit up Drake's. Lastly, we have to include Uchi. It's the best sushi in town, and it has the awards to prove it.

POST-DINNER DRINKS

Getting boozy in your boots is easy in Dallas. Our favorite spots for a post-dinner cocktail are Monkey Bar, located upstairs at Mi Cocina's  Highland Park location, Lounge 31, which can be found just around the corner, and Bowen House, which is packed with North Texas history.
